Land in Common is seeking gifts of housing and land.

We are collaborating with Wabanaki and other people of color-led organizations across Wabanaki Territory (specifically ‘Maine’) to create permanent and affordable land tenure. With land, people can meet their basic needs of housing and food security. With land, people can go beyond basic needs, growing flourishing communities in full sovereignty, safety, and power.

We invite you to join us in creating liberation with the land. We welcome you into the challenging, beautiful, and crucial work of repairing, healing and reimagining relationships with the land and each other.

Acknowledgment & Commitment

Land in Common does our work in occupied Wabanaki homelands, on and with land marked by long histories of injustice, resistance, and resilience.

We affirm that this is sacred Wabanaki land. We honor Wabanaki elders, past, present, and future, and we commit to active support for the sovereignty and flourishing of Wabanaki people and Nations.

We walk with the weight of history and with the ongoing realities of white supremacy, colonialism, genocide, and exploitation that rob so many people and communities of land and livelihood.

We honor the strength and resilience of all those who have resisted and persisted, and who have passed on the dream of a more just world.

We commit ourselves to the work of reckoning, reparation, land return, healing, and ongoing struggle for collective liberation, and to taking our leadership from those most impacted by injustice.
