Advisory Council

In order to build a foundation of wisdom, expertise, and accountability for every dimension of our work, we are currently working to build an Advisory Council (AC) of 15-20 people, including leaders from Maine’s indigenous tribes and new immigrant communities; people with long-time experience in land conservation, agriculture and homesteading, social justice advocacy, and organizational development; and land-owning and land-seeking members of the core constituencies we seek to work with.

In addition to one-on-one and small group consultations, we will convene the AC for a two-day annual retreat to engage in in-depth discussion on core questions facing the organization as well as on wider issues of land protection and land access. Compensation will be offered for the work of our Advisory Council members to ensure that this work is fully honored and that participation is made accessible to everyone.

Our goal is to convene the AC and host our first retreat by Spring of 2020.
